and baby makes four.

My brother and sister-in-law are about to welcome their second little girl into the world, and I couldn’t be more excited. Being an aunt is actually one of the most precious jobs on the planet. I have four (almost five!) of the most incredible nieces and nephews, and I love that being their aunt means that I can love and spoil them just a little differently than their parents can.

A few weeks ago, Matt and Ashley invited our little family over for dinner, and it was the perfect time to capture a few photos of Ashley’s adorable pregnant belly. I decided to continue my “one roll” project and shoot the session with film. However, it ended up being a hybrid session (thank goodness I brought my digital camera!) because after I finished out a roll of film that I had previously started, I accidentally exposed the next one.  That’s what I get for trying to take more than one roll! :) Here are a few of my favorites from our quick mini session…

Whenever my family goes anywhere together, I’m always aware of how our arrival changes things. We’re like a train that’s always going full speed ahead, and there is no way for me to visit friends quietly when my kids are involved. But that’s one of the reasons that I love visiting Matt and Ashley. Ashley (quite honestly) never notices. My kids always come bounding into their house, screaming and running and ready to make their mark on their surroundings, and she honestly never even blinks. If I ever laughingly apologize for the crazy-train, she looks surprised. “Oh, that? I didn’t even notice. Seriously, my house was always like this!” She’s one of five. I love that about her.

It’s hard to remember how cold it was considering our current warm weather, but we actually took these photos on a night that was overcast and COLD. Suki couldn’t even stand being outside in her winter jacket! Add to that the fact that we were literally just using a little wooded area right beside a major road in their neighborhood, and the following photos make me smile so big! Ashley is hard core. And if her neighbors didn’t realize that before, they’re sure of it now.

I’ll end with my favorite. Can’t wait to meet my newest niece!
