A little over one week ago, I headed into D.C. for my last wedding of the year. And let me tell you… it was an amazing night! I fell in love with Diana and Matt earlier this year when we met in Annapolis for their engagement session. They’re both adorable and so much fun! They had me laughing all afternoon, and I just knew their wedding was going to be a blast.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect December day. It was beautiful outside, and the impending holiday only added to the excitement. I started my day with the girls at The Fairfax at Embassy Row. The light was just gorgeous!
Diana and Matt wrote each other letters that were read before their ceremony. Diana told me that their relationship began after Matt wrote her an incredibly heartfelt letter, and it just made sense for that to be a part of their wedding day.
Diana and Matt’s ceremony ended after the sun had gone down, and while they thought about having a first look, they really wanted to see each other for the first time when Diana walked down the aisle. So… we had THREE MINUTES (that’s not an exaggeration) to run outside after the ceremony before we headed back in to meet their families, and I’m so happy that it worked out to grab these special images!
After the ceremony, we headed over to Union Station for their reception! Since much of Diana and Matt’s relationship was long distance, this seemed like the perfect backdrop for their celebration. I loved how it was decorated for Christmas!
One of my favorite parts of the night was when Diana sang “Total Eclipse of the Heart” with the band. Hilarious!
Matt answered his wife’s solo by rapping “Thrift Shop” at the end of the night. Seriously? I officially want to be best friends with Matt and Diana.
I’ll end with my last shot of the night…
Matt and Diana: Congratulations! You two are a joy to be around, and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
