sonia + erik | city tavern club

A little over one week ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Sonia and Erik’s gorgeous wedding in DC. This wedding was a little different for me because I didn’t meet with Sonia while she was getting ready… Instead, I met with both Sonia and Erik a few hours before their ceremony, and we toured the city and hit all their favorite spots! It was such a fun way to kick off their wedding day, and I had such a wonderful time. Every DC tourist wanted a photo of (or with!) the couple, and every little girl thought that Sonia was a princess. It was adorable!

I loved doing something a little different with these two, and it almost (almost!) made me forget how cold it was outside. They were both so easy to photograph and the love that they share was just beautiful. They definitely made my job incredibly easy! Here are just a handful of my favorites from their day…

The ceremony was held at Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown. I loved the quaint feel of the chapel!

After the ceremony, the guests walked over to the City Tavern Club for the reception. The setting was just gorgeous… And it got even better when it started snowing outside!

Last one…

Sonia and Erik: Thank you so much for inviting me to capture your wedding day and for kicking off my 2013 wedding season! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

Love the picture in the chapel door where the bride is looking up – and of course the pic in the snow! She really does have a “princess” dress, so pretty!
